Music Ministry

“Praise God in his holy sanctuary; Give praise with blasts upon the horn, praise him with harp and lyre. Give praise with tambourines and dance, praise him with strings and pipes. praise him with sounding cymbals.”  (Psalm 150)

In our Music Ministry at St. Rose of Lima, we believe that the Glory and Praise of God is our call and purpose. We provide liturgical music and celebrate the Eucharist, as advised by the Constitution of the Sacred Liturgy, in a “full, conscientious, and active participation”. We seek to elevate the worship and inspire the assembly into singing prayer; and as St. Paul encourages us in his letter to the Ephesians, to “sing Psalms, Hymns, and spiritual songs with a grateful heart to our God”

Our Mission

Our mission is to transform the art of music into prayer. We aim to elevate our worship and inspire the assembly through music. St Rose of Lima’s music ministry welcomes people from all backgrounds and walks of life, under the guidance of trained music ministers.

Our vision

Sacred Music is an expression or sacred realms, and a reflection of the divine, as well as a fine form of worship. We praise God with our minds and hearts as well as with our voices and music.

Our passion

To the praise and glory of God alone. We believe that being a minister of music is a calling, and as such, we are committed to provide the musical training needed to develop and consolidate our choirs/ensembles.
