The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops approved a new English translation of what
was formerly known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults [RCIA], also announcing a
change in its name to the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults [OCIA]. A Spanish version was
also passed and will keep the acronym RICA, for Ritual de Iniciación Cristiana de Adultos;.

Has expressed an interest in becoming Catholic or learning more about our faith? Has a child
over the age of seven who has not been baptized?
Are you an adult who was baptized Catholic as a child, but have not celebrated the Sacraments
of Eucharist and/or Confirmation?
We offer an opportunity to come and learn more about our faith. Sessions focus on the
teachings and experience of the Church and prepare individuals to celebrate the Sacraments
of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. There are separate sessions for adults, youth, and
children in English and Adults and children in Spanish. You are to participate in the process
with your questions, your insights, and your faith story in a warm accepting setting. For
information, please contact the Parish Office from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday thru Friday or the
Religious Education Office which is open Monday thru Thursdays from 4 – 7 pm and Sunday
from 9am to 1pm.
